Overview
We joined an existing team that had been developing a real-time arrival and departure board solution for over a year.
Goal
Our goal was to help them complete and launch the solution within just three months.
Solution
We achieved this by completely rebuilding the user interface for both the Arrival/Departure board and the flight schedule view, ensuring a modern, responsive design and seamless user experience.
Additionally, we integrated the system with Azure Event Hub to efficiently process real-time airport events.
Features Implemented
Angular UI with Rich UX Features: Built a dynamic, user-friendly interface with advanced filtering and multi-level flight information screens.
Auto Refresh: Enabled real-time flight updates without manual intervention.
Connected Flight Display: Showed detailed information for linked connecting flights, providing comprehensive travel data at a glance.
Push Notifications: Added alerts for flight changes and important updates.
Web Application: Built a fully functional web app accessible on any device, including iOS and Android tablets and phones.
Responsive Design: Optimized the UI for mobile devices, tablets, and large monitors.
PWA (Progressive Web App): Enabled offline support and an app-like mobile experience.
Outcomes
Accelerated Launch: The project was completed and launched in three months.
Enhanced User Experience: The new UI gave passengers and staff a seamless, intuitive experience, improving satisfaction and efficiency.
